June sees the annual OB Golf match against the School and, following a 5-0 whitewash in 2015, we brought some of our big guns with us this year intent on avoiding ignominy two years on the trot! With the usual Howland Room unavailable for lunch owing to preparations for the Open Qualifier, we instead consoled ourselves with a full roast lunch and dessert from the carvery.

Win, loss, win, loss left the match hanging in the balance but despair the OB’s did not, as we knew we had tour pro Ed Kent (98-07) in the last match. Arriving into the clubhouse declaring he hated giving shots away, we knew the game was up and conceded a 3-2 defeat. A good day had by all, and clear that the future of OB golf is very bright indeed.

Tom Langley-Poole (96-06)
