We are very proud of our golfing scholars and the successes they have on the fairway.

We were particularly delighted when nine of our golf scholars represented the school at the Bedfordshire County Scratch Championships held on Wednesday 16 October.

The boys did exceptionally well and we were both happy and proud to see that the final leaderboard was dominated by Bedford School boys. Fourth Former Freddie Tucker and Fifth Formers Lawrence Jefferys and Alex Robins secured first, second and third in the U16 event, as well as finishing first and second in the team event.

A special mention must go to Lower Sixth Former Finlay Cummings for an excellent round of 74, which promoted him to clubhouse leader for a while, although unfortunately he later lost on a countback.

The winning team was made up of Finlay Cummings and Upper Sixth Formers Wilf Rush and Harry Brown who were presented with a shield for their accomplishment. Their result means that the boys now qualify for the England Schools Team Event which will be held at Woodhall Spa next summer.
