George Furbank Announced as Northampton Saints’ New Club Captain for 2024/25 Season
We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Northampton Saints have named George Furbank (13-15) their newest Club Captain ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Having risen all the way through Northampton’s development pathway, signing his first professional contract in 2016, George becomes the third successive Saints Academy graduate to lead the Club.
Speaking at Twickenham during the Premiership Rugby 2024/25 season launch, George expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s pretty surreal, to be honest. To be named Club Captain is a massive privilege and an honour.”
Impressively, George remains undefeated as captain whilst covering Lewis Ludlam’s injury absences last season, leading Northampton to victories both at Franklin’s Gardens and on away grounds.
The Northampton Saints head into the 2024/25 season as defending Premiership champions – a title they are holding for the first time in a decade!
We wish George and the entire Saints team the very best of luck for the upcoming season.
