From the Archives: Around the World in Fifty Years

An article in the June 2001 edition of The Ousel celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Geography department.

“In 1951-52 the introduction of A-levels meant using two suitably-equipped top-floor rooms of the main building purely for Geography. Until then the subject was taught peripatetically in classrooms co-ordinated by Colin Reeve, who became the first Head of Department”.
