Making a regular gift (UK)
For those wishing to give a larger gift, making smaller regular payments can be an affordable way to support the School.
Those giving a total of £1,000 or more, including tax claimed by the Foundation through Gift Aid, will be eligible for Membership of the Foundation.
Through Standing Order
Please print out, complete and return this form to us.
Making a gift from the USA
Tax deductible contributions can be made to The British School and Universities Foundation (BSUF). Grants are made by the BSUF at its sole discretion as required by the IRS, but donors' expressions of preference are respected (contributions made directly to an offshore charity do not qualify for a tax deduction under the IRS).
Therefore, when transmitting your donation, please express your preference for Bedford School Foundation using this form, but not on your cheque, which should be made payable to The British Schools and Universities Foundation.
Please send your completed form and cheque to The British Schools and Universities Foundation. If your employer has a Matching Gift program, they can provide you with a form which you can complete and enclose also.
The British Schools and Universities Foundation
575 Madison Avenue
If you are a UK taxpayer living in the USA, and you have a UK bank account, please make your donation as for UK residents and Taxpayers. Please email the Foundation if you would like an Overseas Business Reply envelope.
Making a gift from Canada
The Canadian Friends of Bedford School (CFBS) has a bank account with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in White Rock, BC. Please make your gift by cheque.
Please print out, fill in and post this form, along with your cheque made payable to The Canadian Friends of Bedford School, to the Treasurer:
The Treasurer, Mr Robin Harper
Canadian Friends of Bedford School
14250 26th Avenue
BC V4P 2G7
A gift receipt that complies with the CRA requirements for tax exemption will be sent for each donation. If you have any queries, the Treasurer can be contacted on firstname.lastname@example.org
Making a gift from the rest of the world
Unfortunately there are no tax deductions or relief available to donor who pay taxes in countries other than the UK, USA and Canada. Nevertheless, you can make a donation by sending us a cheque made payable to Bedford School Foundation, or get in touch with us to discuss how else you can donate.
Leaving a legacy
We deeply appreciate gifts by bequest and those who intend to remember the School in their Will are automatically welcomed as a Member of the 1552 Club; our opportunity to acknowledge and thank you. Legacies are exempt from inheritance tax and can offer the opportunity to give a gift at no cost to you during your lifetime, without affecting your ability to take care of your loved ones.

Name a seat in the new theatre
Bedford School Foundation is delighted to offer the opportunity to be part of the theatre by naming a seat, and have extended the deadline for submitting the donation form. Your donation to the project will be acknowledged by the name(s) of your choice being inscribed on a seat plaque in the new auditorium.
Naming a seat makes the perfect birthday, anniversary or wedding gift. It is a unique and personal way to mark a special occasion, remember a loved one, or celebrate someone dear. Colleagues, relatives or friends could club together to recognise someone special or record an individual’s association with the School.
Plaques can be engraved with the name(s) only, or prefixed by 'Donated by', 'A gift for' or 'In memory of', for a maximum of two people, or a family name, e.g. 'The Smith Family'.
