Each Wednesday lunchtime, there is great excitement from our Y5 boys for our Forest School Club. It is a wonderful opportunity for the boys to hunt for minibeasts in the nature garden, build mini-dens and simply enjoy the great outdoors.

When we joined the boys, who were undeterred by the cold and a few spots of rain, they were busy working together to create inventive and ingenious free-standing forts using logs, sticks and sticklets (handy joints for holding everything securely together).

Mrs Russell, our very own Forest School leader, told us, “The boys just love the club, and it’s wonderful not only to see them taking such pleasure from the activities but also to see them developing their listening and teamwork skills. They learn so many skills through this simple play, even learning to risk-assess their activities!”
