Thursday 1st February gave us a superb away block fixture against St. Edwards.

The pitches and facilities were excellent and gave all the teams the opportunity to play some slick, neat football.

The First XI won 2-1, with both goals coming from Hearnshaw. Two Upper Sixth players (Ukiri and Singh) made their debut for the teams and both played superbly. Having gone two goals up, the Bedford side conceded a goal with 20 minutes left to play and this set up a tense and nervy last quarter with the painful 3-2 defeat to Uppingham still fresh in their memory. This time the team stood firm with an incredible double save by Oscar Singer to help the team to their first victory of the season.

The Second XI secured a 1-1 draw thanks to a magnificent free kick from Younis – arguable better than Marcus Alonso for Chelsea  against Newcastle last weekend.

The third XI produced a sensational 6-1 victory with Fahmy scoring a hat-trick, Fomin a brace and Lusis the final goal. the victory was long and overdue and gives the team a great boost of confidence heading into next week’s tough set of matches against Haileybury and Berkhamsted.
