It is always great to see the boys tucking into their meals in the Dining Hall each day, and this Thursday was no exception. Chicken ramen with egg noodles and stir-fried vegetables proved the clear lunchtime favourite. The dish is one of our new ‘Powering Performance’ meals, which are on offer each Thursday.

As William Hackett, our Catering Manager, explained, the programme, which started at the end of January, “Helps our young people to understand the effect that the food that they eat has on their bodies.” The tasty ramen is one of our focus dishes and is packed full of ingredients designed to sharpen the mind and help the boys’ brains and nervous systems regulate memory and mood; based on the boys smiles, it was a winner on the taste front as well.

In addition to our ‘Powering Performance’ meals, there are plenty of other tasty treats on offer. This half term ‘Bamboo Fusion’ is our street food theme each Tuesday with tempting dishes from the Far East.  Our boarders can look forward to more international flavours with American and Colombian themed suppers in the coming weeks, and all boys will enjoy a special menu to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

Yum!
