Army cadets from our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) enjoyed a field training weekend at RAF Barnham in Suffolk on 13 and 14 October. The RAF Station, which was originally a high-security storage facility for nuclear weapons in the 1950s and 60s, is now used for RAF Regiment training.

Around 30 cadets were deployed in the area on Saturday evening and took part in a series of patrols and ambushes, followed by a full-scale Platoon Attack on the ‘Enemy’ (senior cadets).

The weather was interesting, to say the least, with a suitable downpour for the final attack. All involved worked very hard and the aims of the exercise were achieved. It was also a fun experience, and both physically and mentally challenging, especially for those in positions of responsibility.

The Remove Form cadets are to be congratulated on their performance. It was their first time in the field on one of these fast moving exercises.
