Our Classicists have enjoyed a fascinating and busy start to the autumn term, including the following talks, trips and activities:

  • Mr Allen spoke to the Classical Society about Rome, Herculaneum and Pompeii.
  • A group of sixth form Classicists volunteered their services at an archeological dig on Manton Lane in Bedford, working to uncover a Roman bathhouse.
  • Lower Sixth pupils visited the University of Cambridge for a study day on their new A Level set texts.
  • Upper Sixth Classical Civilisation pupils watched the triennial Cambridge Greek play: a joint production of Sophocles' Antigone and Aristophanes' Lysistrata.
