Walking Tour of Historic London Pubs
After the success of our tour of Churches within the Square Mile in 2017, we are delighted to announce our second walking tour in London.
We will gather at 12.30pm for a two-course lunch at the Cittie of Yorke, 22 High Holborn (nearest Underground, Chancery Lane). After lunch we will meet up with our guide (Tony from last year) and start on a walking tour of a number of the most historic pubs in London; one almost unaltered since 1546, another the regular haunt of Samuel Johnson, Dickens, Conan Doyle, Galsworthy, Tennyson, and another with the only surviving cockpit and gallery from the days before that “sport” was outlawed in 1849. We are likely to finish in the Black Friar, the "Arts and Crafts" masterpiece opposite Blackfriars station between 5-6pm.
All OBs and partners are welcome. You obviously need to be mobile, but don't worry, the pace will not be fast and we are likely to quench our thirst along the way!
The cost of lunch and the tour will be £25 per person. Please book early as numbers are limited, and let us know any dietary requirements too.
