OB Tour of the Courtauld Gallery and Lunch
We are delighted to invite Old Bedfordians and their guests to visit The Courtauld Gallery, one of London’s must-see art museums, on Thursday 25th May.
Hosted by Dr Barnaby Wright (84-93), Daniel Katz Curator of 20th Century Art, we will arrive at 11am for coffee, before being taken on a tour of the Gallery at 11.30am by Dr Wright. We will then enjoy lunch together, before exploring the Gallery at our own pace.
The Courtauld Gallery’s collection stretches from the early Renaissance into the 20th century and is displayed in the elegant setting of Somerset House, one of the city’s most dynamic cultural venues. The Gallery is particularly renowned for its unrivalled collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, including masterpieces by Monet, Van Gogh and Gauguin and the largest collection of Cézannes in the UK. The Gallery also holds an outstanding collection of drawings and prints and fine works of sculpture and decorative arts. Find out more about the Gallery here.
