Do you have any plans for St George's Day?

Old Bedfordian Harry Guthrie (07-17) is currently spending a year at Wells Cathedral as Bass Choral Scholar before going to Trinity College, Cambridge, in the Autumn to read Music, on a choral scholarship. If you have not visited before, the town of Wells and the Cathedral (built between 1175 and 1490) in particular, are both quite magnificent and certainly worth exploring.

With a bit of support from the Office, Team Harry has very kindly put together an event at Wells which coincides with Saint George's Day. We hope that OBs from across the region (or even further afield) and their partners will join us.

The plan for the day is as follows:

1.15pm - Meet for a two-course lunch (starter and main with tea/coffee) at the Cathedral Cafe (over lunch Harry will tell us a little more about his time at Wells)
3.15pm - A private tour of the Cathedral
4.30pm - Tea and cake back in the Cathedral Café
5.15pm - 6.15pm Evensong

For those with reduced mobility, we are told that the Cathedral and Café have good access. The day will cost £25 per head which includes all refreshments (drinks not included with lunch) and the tour.

With longer days and lighter evenings for journeys home, we hope that this event will be well supported.
