Beer Tasting and Curry Evening
We hope that you are aware that Jason Reddy (79-84) has recently taken over as the Club's new DVP for Bedfordshire. We are delighted that Jason will host his first event in his new role on Friday 16th March. The evening will take the form of a "beer tasting" at 7pm, put on by the OB team at Black Pit Brewery at a venue in the School, and we will then wander into town for a curry. Being back at School, I have no doubt that all of us will be interested to learn a little more about the science that goes into brewing beer, although we appreciate there may be a number of amateur brewers within the audience!
We are very proud that three OBs, Ben Williams (91-02), Duncan Wheeler (95-02) and Oliver Whiteley (92-02), are working together and have made the Black Pit Brewery such a success in a relatively short time. We are sure that this event will appeal to OBs of all ages based in and around the Bedfordshire area. You may be aware that the Brewery got a mention on the Simon Mayo show on Radio 2 in the build-up to Christmas.
Over the weekend of the17th and 18th March, the OB Club will take on the School at a number of sports, with this in mind, we hope that there will be a good turnout by OBs and their partners, for what promises to be a fun and educational evening. Do not worry if you are not a beer drinker, wine or a non-alcoholic alternative will be available.
The evening will cost £21 per head (including booking fee). This includes the "beer tasting" reception and the curry. Please note that drinks in the curry house will be additional. At this stage, we anticipate that those attending will join us for both parts of the evening. Feel free to come on your own or make up a group.
We have now reached full capacity for the 'curry' part of the evening but have a few remaining spaces for the 'beer tasting' part. Tickets for this are priced at £5 per head.
