Cricket – Northamptonshire CCC v South Africa

May 21 | 10:00 - 17:00

We would like to put out a special invitation to OBs, partners and Friends of the School to join us at this significant fixture at Northampton. It will be an important match before South Africa take on England in a series of ODI’s commencing on 24th May and a full Test commencing on 6th July. Thank you to OB and Captain of Northamptonshire, Alex Wakely (96-07), for helping us put this day together. Alex is particularly excited at the thought of seeing a good number of OB supporters for this fixture. If you would like to learn a bit more about Alex’s cricketing career, please see here.

We hope to attract up to fifty OBs and their friends. The plan is to be based in our own private area, the Old Speckled Hen Lounge, where we will have the opportunity to catch up with Alex and some of the other players.

The format of the day is as follows;

From 10am - Arrive, coffee, tea and breakfast rolls available
11am - Play commences (tbc)
Two course lunch (cash bar available)
Afternoon tea with cakes

The total cost for the day after a contribution from the OB Club is £45 (plus £2 merchant's fee) per head which is fantastic value. As well as including the hospitality mentioned, this figure also covers your match day ticket and reserved seating in the Turner Stand, although there are also some benches available on the terrace of the Old Speckled Hen Lounge if more convenient. We also have a limited number of car passes for those bringing a full load. These will be able to applied for through the OB Club Office. Please note that the dress code for the day is smart casual (no tee shirts, jeans, shorts or flip flops please). Feel free to bring children as guests, but we request that they kindly follow the same dress code, although smart shorts are acceptable.

All in all, it promises to be a very memorable day. Please can we encourage you to book up fast using the booking form below.
