With lessons in full swing and boys back into the routine of remote learning, we are delighted to announce that a whole raft of Prep School extracurricular clubs and enrichment activities will be starting next week.

For those who love to bake, the Great BPS Bake Off Club is a must. Boys of all ages can take part in the club’s weekly challenges, which begins with ‘biscuit week’. Mrs Bowis would like them to make six decorated biscuits for our judge, Mr Silk. Their entries will be marked on how good they look and, hopefully, taste – although, sadly, Mr Silk cannot judge their taste!  On Your Marks…Get Set…Bake!

“I am definitely participating in this. I love cooking!”

Nirmay Patel, Y7

The Strava Club will also ‘run’ from next week. With weekly competitions, virtual races, challenges and more, boys will be encouraged to walk, run, cycle or swim to build up the kilometres for personal and house challenges. We hope that lots of boys will get involved, have fun and get active!

With a myriad of clubs on offer, including the ever-popular gardening club and code club, the opportunity for debating, to compete in competitions, take part in PE challenges and perform in informal concerts, there is plenty on the horizon to teach boys new skills, to challenge them, help them to get active in lockdown and stay connected, not to mention have some fun.

“I hope the boys really enjoy getting involved in these activities. Keeping fit and healthy is important, especially during lockdown. Therefore, it is great to see the HIT sessions that Prep School sports staff are providing and opportunities like Strava Club.”

Mr Silk, Headmaster
