Our Eagle House boarders started National Boarding Week in great style as they headed off for their annual house trip. As ever, it was a wonderful celebration of the Eagle House community, full of camaraderie, shared friendships and fun.
This year the boys headed to Ilam Hall in Ashbourne, which is perfectly positioned for a wealth of exciting trips and activities in and around the stunning Peak District.
The boys’ action-packed weekend started on Saturday with a trip to Alton Towers Waterpark, followed by an evening hike up Thorpe Cloud (just missing the showers!) before a game of Werewolves – a good old-fashioned card game of lies, deceit and accusations (think Traitors).
On Sunday, the fun continued with a bike ride to the magnificent Thor’s Cave in the morning, some hotly contested laser tag in the afternoon and then, still full of energy, the boys enjoyed football and rugby games back in the beautiful grounds of Ilam Hall.
And, of course, no trip to the area would be complete without a trip to Alton Towers theme park, where the boys enjoyed adrenalin-fuelled rides before heading homewards, arriving back at school in time to enjoy the special ‘Taste the World’* boarders’ dinner with their fellow Upper School boarders.
