The Prep School’s latest musical Double or Nothing raised the roof of The Quarry Theatre on its opening night on Thursday 21 June.

The toe-tapping Western thriller musical, written by our Composer in Residence Mr Groom and directed by Mrs Gedye, had the audience at its premiere laughing in the aisles. Full of cowboys, cacti, cow theft and the meanest band of Mexican desperadoes the West has ever seen, it was a fantastic opening to the school’s annual Creative Arts Festival, which runs until Thursday 5 July (click here for full details).

Parents joined us in praising the cast and crew on their superb performance.

“Such an entertaining evening, so funny and amazingly written, directed and acted. Both staff and boys should be so proud. Great fun.”

“It was awesome! Looking forward to seeing it again tonight.”

“Tonight was amazing! Great job of the boys and very talented Mr Groom and Mrs Gedye for putting it together. So proud of the boys!”

After enjoying three incredible shows by Mr Groom: Baba Yaga, Bluebeard the Musical and now Double or Nothing, we cannot wait to see what he will come up with next.
