The thriving OB Deutschland E.V. group, set up for OBs who come from or live in Germany, enjoyed its eighth Annual Reunion in Dresden last weekend. The VIII OBD Reunion took place over the weekend of the 27th-29th November, in the picturesque city of Dresden this year, famed not only for the baroque architecture it boasts in its beautiful city centre but also for its traditional Christmas market.
As part of the festive weekend, OBs explored the Christmas Market Striezelmarkt, took in the historic city centre as part of a guided tour, visited the Dresden Frauenkirche and other various famous sights and museums, along with a reunion dinner. The group also wished a fond farewell to Gene Zinngrebe (05-07), who has stepped down as vice president of the club due to work-related reasons, expressing their gratitude for his tremendous work for the club including the organisation of numerous meetings and reunions, wishing him great success at his job.
It was a pleasure to welcome such a varied selection of OBs, some of whom had travelled a long distance to make it to the reunion, and as ever the meet-up was a well-attended, fun and jovial occasion. The club are already looking forward to their next meetings planned for Düsseldorf and Hamburg and invite all OBs who will be in Germany at the time to attend these too.
As always, all OBs (and partners) are very welcome to attend events and reunions organised by the group. A large number of German-speaking students have attended Bedford School, particularly since the introduction of the International Baccalaureate to the School, and OB Deutschland e.V. is a very active network going from strength to strength.
