The tremendous artistic and creative talent of the boys was celebrated on Friday 26th February 2016. The Detweiler Competition is an annual event named after Dr Alan Detweiler, a Canadian composer, who originally generously supported the prize. Prizes are awarded both for submissions for the art competition and the Head Masters prize for creative writing.
The theme for this years Competition was A Sense of Place; a theme interpreted and produced in many exciting and inspiring forms by the boys.
Our thanks go to OB Dr Barnaby Wright (84-93), Daniel Katz Curator of 20-century art at the Coutard Gallery, and Artist Peter Moore, a friend of Alan Detweiler, for taking on the difficult task of selecting the winners from the fantastic artwork and creative writing submitted by the boys.
