The OB Cricket Club spectacularly won their first round Cricketer Cup match on Saturday 13th June against Uppingham Rovers.

Posting a huge total of 393, at almost 8 an over, with centuries from Sam Kumar and Christian Davis, his first ever at the School, quite a fact based on his undoubted talent. This is the fourth highest total in the 49 year history of the Cricketer Cup!

Bowling and fielding didn't let us down, with Ed Wharton having the visitors two down without the Uppingham batsmen troubling the scorers. Harry Aitkenhead took five wickets clearing up the tail, ably assists by Jack Goldberg taking three catches at long on, one being taken at ankle levels diving to the fore, a catch which perhaps surpassed the aged wicketkeeper taking a decent diving take to his right inches off the floor!

Our next round match will see us at Sherborne on Sunday 28th June, without a couple of key players but likely that we'll have Charlie Thurston and Vicram Sohal at our disposal, so the team is perhaps going to be even stronger, certainly younger! Get in touch with Charlie Wren on for more info.
