Alastair Cook (98-03) passed Graham Gooch to become England's leading Test run scorer on 30th May 2015 at the second day of the second test against New Zealand at Headingley.

Then just days later, he broke records again by becoming the first England player to reach 9,000 test runs; making him the youngest player ever to reach that mark, and edging out India legend Sachin Tendulkar to the milestone.  Cook is now positioned 13 in on the all-time-list of run scorers.

Although Alastair is very modest about this achievements, Bedford School and the OB Club community are very proud that an Old Bedfordian has achieved such a significant cricketing records.
