DVP Contacts UK and Abroad

Community OB Club

One of the Club’s greatest strengths is its network of volunteer representatives known as District Vice Presidents (DVPs). Located across the UK and internationally, DVPs play a vital role in supporting the OB community. They offer advice, make introductions, and help organise events for local and visiting OBs and their families, fostering meaningful connections and ensuring OBs feel welcome wherever they are in the world.

Contact a UK DVP

Please feel free to get in touch with your local DVP, or one from further afield – perhaps you are travelling abroad on holiday and would like a recommendation of somewhere to stay or eat, or even to meet up for a coffee!

Contact an International DVP

Please feel free to get in touch with your local DVP, or one from further afield – perhaps you are travelling abroad on holiday and would like a recommendation of somewhere to stay or eat, or even to meet up for a coffee!

Become a DVP

DVPs play a vital role in helping the Old Bedfordians Club community thrive. We are always looking for self-motivated OBs who would like to join the DVP network.

If you live in a region of the UK or in a country internationally that doesn’t currently have a DVP, we would love for you to become the first DVP for that area.

The time commitment varies depending on the number of OBs in your area and how much local activity you wish to encourage. It can be a small role – simply being available for OBs to contact and talk to someone locally. Some of our DVPs organise reunion lunches, evening drinks, or sightseeing tours. Many meet up with visiting OBs (it’s always nice to see a friendly face when you’ve travelled somewhere new!) or offer advice to OBs relocating to the area.

As all DVPs are volunteers, the following is not an exhaustive list but rather a guide to the role:

  • Serve as the main point of contact in your region or country
  • Develop a local OB Club network for social and/or business purposes
  • Organise, with support from the OB Office, at least one event per year (or more, if desired), and encourage local OBs to attend
  • Help keep the OB Office updated with any major news relating to OBs in your region
  • Offer advice and possibly meet with OBs or Bedford School parties planning a visit to your region

DVPs enjoy socialising with new people and reconnecting with old friends, while continuing their relationship with the school. From a professional perspective, you’ll have the opportunity to network with potential business contacts and enhance your CV through the skills and experience gained in the role.

The OB Club is here to support you, offering guidance on event organisation as well as assistance with publicity and promotion.

If there isn’t already a DVP in your area, and you enjoy socialising and communicating with people of all ages and would like to volunteer for the role, you sound perfect – please get in touch with the OB Club!
