Community

Bedford School

Bedford School has a thriving and welcoming community that extends far beyond current pupils and staff to include parents, past parents, former staff, and Old Bedfordians (OBs).

The community is overseen by the Bedford School Association (BSA).

The Bedford School Association (BSA) exists to unite and celebrate the Bedford School community – past and present. Through inspiring stories, exciting events, and career-building opportunities, the BSA fosters connection, pride, and lifelong support. Whether it’s sharing OB achievements, showcasing school life, or opening doors through our extensive network, the BSA is here to champion every member of our vibrant community.

“A trip to the other side the world to visit relations in New Zealand provided an ideal opportunity to meet up with Old Bedfordians whilst en route. Using the Alumni Directory I was able to contact the DVPs in Dubai, Auckland, Sydney and Singapore. Get togethers were quickly arranged and we were able to enjoy the delightful company of OBs, wives and partners at several enchanting venues in many wonderful cities.”

Spectacular Results for Our IB Cohort

Our final cohort of International Baccalaureate boys have achieved an outstanding set of results, with half of the year group scoring 40 points or more out of a maximum 45. Of the ten boys who completed the IB Diploma Programme this summer, five achieved the exceptional milestone of 40+ points, while the most common Higher-Level grade awarded across the cohort was a 7 which is equivalent to an A* at A Level.

Double Cricket Champions

There was double the reason to celebrate this week as our U13 1st XI added a second title to an already remarkable season. Fresh from their IAPS Cup triumph, the boys delivered another composed, all-round performance to win the David English Cup Midlands Final. Posting 134 from their 30 overs, they combined sharp fielding with disciplined, intelligent bowling to dismiss the opposition for 101, sealing a convincing 34-run victory.

Junior Golfers Crowned National Champions

Huge congratulations to Oliver (Year 8) and Jack (Year 7) on their brilliant victory at the Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) Junior National Finals. Competing at Radley College in extremely challenging conditions, including torrential rain and a pause in play due to thunder, both boys showed impressive composure and resilience. Their performances were exceptional throughout.
