As we run up to Christmas, our Prep boys have been enjoying the pleasure of giving.

On Wednesday 15 November, the boys welcomed Emma, William and Jenny from Bedfordshire Down’s Syndrome Support Group and presented them with a cheque for £2069 to support with their work. The money was raised by the Prep School and Howard House who arranged a ‘Danceathon’ to raise additional funds.

On Wednesday 22 November, they welcomed Jane Whitbread, founder of School Readers to assembly to receive a cheque for £1000 raised by Prep School charity donations. School Readers is a charity which organises volunteers to read to children who wouldn’t otherwise have an adult to read to them. The donation will ensure that 60 children have a reader for a year.

On Wednesday 29 November, it was the turn of Heather Jones from local charity Bedfordshire Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support (BRASS).  The boys learnt about the charities work to empower, inform and support refugees and asylum seekers, and to protect rights with an aim to develop independence and involvement in UK society before presenting their cheque for £685.
