Earlier last week, boys were given the exciting opportunity to attend an exhibition focused on applying to overseas universities. The event, which was hosted by The University Guys, provided boys with valuable insights into the application processes, requirements and opportunities available at universities around the world.
The boys were able to engage in meaningful conversations with admissions directors, gaining first-hand knowledge of what it takes to study abroad. They learned about the diverse educational systems, cultural experiences and career opportunities that come with studying in different countries.
One of the highlights of the exhibition was the personalised guidance provided by The University Guys, a team of experts dedicated to helping students navigate the complexities of international university applications. They offered one-on-one consultations, helping boys to understand their options and plan their next steps.
Iona Straw, Careers Adviser, shared her thoughts on the event, “We had a great time hosting the International Roadshow by The University Guys. We had some great conversations, and the boys learnt that studying at universities abroad is much more accessible than several of them thought, particularly in Europe. The University Guys provide world-class support for students looking to study abroad and can offer advice and guidance directly to students, as well as working alongside the school.”
The students themselves found the exhibition to be incredibly informative and inspiring. Sixth Former Saif Ajaj remarked, “It was a great experience attending The University Guys’ exhibition. I learned a lot about the University of Toronto, as well as education in Canada, which really amazed me. The insights I gained about the university system there have inspired me to apply to the University of Toronto. What also stood out to me was the variety of universities that were showcased, each offering unique programmes and opportunities. It was interesting to see the diversity of choices available, and it broadened my perspective on potential study destinations.”
James Dooley, another Sixth Former, appreciated the support he received: “The University Guys helped guide me round the international university fair. They approached me, asked me questions, and offered a free half hour chat with them for further assistance. The lady who I spoke to was willing to share her knowledge and helped me to order my thoughts between speaking to universities such as Bologna and Florida. Overall, it was a great help to have them there and their suggestions and knowledge proved very useful to all who attended.”
The exhibition provided boys with a wealth of information and inspiration. It opened their eyes to the possibilities of studying abroad and equipped them with the knowledge and confidence to pursue their academic dreams on a global scale.
