Six of our Upper Sixth Form students recently took part in the British Biology Olympiad (BBO), which was sat by circa 7500 students from around the world. It challenges and stimulates students with an interest in biology to expand their talents, and enables students to demonstrate their knowledge and to be suitably rewarded with publicly recognised certificates and medals. The competition consisted of two multiple choice papers, and top scoring students were offered the opportunity to attend an award ceremony at the Savoy Hotel in London.

All Bedford boys did extremely well with all six achieving an award. Congratulations to Sihaoe (Daniel) Liu who is in the top seven percent of candidates nationally and has been invited to the Savoy to collect his gold award. This is especially noteworthy considering English is Daniel’s second language!
