The second of our annual lunch meetings for 2015 was held at our favourite venue, the Walton Park Hotel, Clevedon.
32 members enjoyed an excellent lunch followed by a toast to HM The Queen, The OB Club and the School.
Our president, Sandy Gray (59-64), was in usual good form and spoke of the many changes within the OB Club, and confirming the membership is growing. This must be a good omen for the future of the club.
The guest speaker, Bob Eadie, a member of the staff since 1971, illustrated how careers can change within the school, joining as a maths teacher to eventually becoming master in charge of computers. We thank Bob for taking the time to be with us.
The afternoon was completed by a talk and slide show given by Mark Howson (65-74), whose 38 years in the mining industry qualified him to illustrate the many changes within the industry and to indicate what fracking might mean to us all in the future.
I thank all members for their support over my five year term as DVP. Also thanks go to Mark Howson for agreeing to take over the position as DVP for the district.
We all look forward to our 2016 meeting and wish him good support from the membership.
Richard Shorrock (45-53)
