Y4 excitedly set off to St Alban’s Cathedral on Monday 12 November for an adventure into the Roman era.

During the action-packed day, boys followed the Roman trail at the Cathedral and in small groups learned about the Romans and everyday Roman life in Verulamium through role play and experiential activities. Togas were donned as the boys dressed up to re-enact the story of Alban, saint and martyr, with the cathedral as the perfect setting.

After looking at some of the mosaics from Verulamium, the boys had the opportunity to get creative and make their own mosaic tiles to take back to school.
