Brilliant Bedfordshire Festival

Brilliant Bedfordshire Festival

Congratulations to all our boys who took part in this year’s Bedfordshire Festival of Music, Speech and Drama. Competing in the festival, which is one of the oldest, largest and most celebrated events of its kind in the UK, is a remarkable achievement.

We are delighted to say that every boy represented the school superbly, and we congratulate each and every one of them. Stepping onto a stage requires great confidence, and we are proud to say that the boys rose to the occasion quite brilliantly.

As in previous years, a fantastic number of boys were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. This is no small feat, particularly when competing with more than 3,000 musicians and actors of all ages, all aiming to impress the judges with business pitches, dramatic scenes, duologues, prepared readings, original stories and poems, verse speaking, musical performances and more.

“Congratulations to every boy who took to the stage to compete. It takes great courage to step out onto a stage and perform, but I am pleased to say that our boys did so in impressive numbers – and quite brilliantly.”

About Speech and Drama at Bedford Prep School
From their earliest years at Bedford Prep School, we encourage boys to explore and develop a love for the creative arts. In Speech and Drama, almost 40 percent of boys enjoy weekly lessons. Their exceptional results at the Bedfordshire Festival highlight their enthusiasm for the arts, the impressive skills and confidence they have built, and the joy they find in performing.
