By John Godber

28 June | 4.30pm pre-show workshop entitled ‘Exploring the physical style of the play’.

28 June | 9.00pm post-show OX2 Club Set

This multi-award winning play by John Godber originally appeared at the 1977 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It’s been revived and adapted countless times since its first incarnation due to its popularity and the timelessness of the subject-matter and themes.

Bouncers tells the tale of one night in a Yorkshire disco. Originally set in the 1980s this new vision of the play takes on modern cultural references and will bring the action right up to date.

It’s Saturday night. All the gang are out on the town, the girls, the cheesy DJ, pumping tunes and they’re all under the watchful eye of the Bouncers; Lucky Eric, Judd, Les and Ralph are the original ‘Men in Black’!

Come and enjoy a cocktail in the Quarry Theatre bar before the show and step into the theatre – transformed into our very own nightclub for the night!

“Bouncers is not so much a play as it is a social phenomenon” The Guardian

On Tuesday 28 June at 4.30pm there will be a 90-minute drama workshop exploring the physical style of the play. Tickets are free but will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

After the show on Tuesday 28 June there will be a special end-of-year OX2 Club Set so the party doesn’t have to stop! Ticket holders can stay on for this event at no extra charge and you can buy a ticket for this event even if you didn’t see the play.
