Pemberley House is home to around 50 boys who range in age from 13-18.

The Pemberley boarding experience fosters in each boy an appreciation of the worth of others and the shared benefits of living in a community.

Pemberley House Handbook

Pemberley House was purpose-built as a school boarding house in 1904 and has offered a “home from home” to generations of Bedford schoolboys for over a century. It is located on Pemberley Avenue, and is ideally situated just a minute’s walk from the school gate, combining easy access to every part of the main school campus and its amenities with the advantages of an off-campus boarding house.

HouseMaster’s Welcome

Pemberley House sets out to provide a transformative boarding experience by providing an environment in which boys can flourish.  We do this by placing a premium on positive relationships, encouraging engagement in school activities, celebrating achievements, and through inspirational Sixth Form leadership.  The result is a vibrant house with a family feel; a house to which boys feel a deep sense of commitment and belonging, and whose culture promotes positive emotions, effective learning, and social responsibility.

Boarding at Pemberley strikes the perfect balance between promoting and encouraging school events and core family values – making Pemberley feel like home.
