On Friday 2 May 2025, we were thrilled to officially open our newly redeveloped Atrium—a vibrant and inspiring space that now forms the heart of our ‘school within a school’ for our Year 3 and Year 4 boys. The event was made even more special by the presence of some very important people: our boys and their families.
As parents stepped through the doors, they were greeted by the stunning transformation. The new Atrium is more than just an entrance—it’s a warm, welcoming space that sets the tone for the day and reflects our wonderful young school community.
Bursting with colour and designed for versatility, the Atrium has already become a favourite venue for assemblies, lessons and a wide range of activities. Its thoughtful design makes it a fun and functional space and a showcase for the Year 3 and Year 4 boys’ creativity and achievements.
At the opening, the boys were delighted to act as tour guides, pointing out the many fun and carefully thought-out features, including a bespoke, eye-catching Bedford mural that includes the four school houses alongside iconic local landmarks. It is a powerful reminder to our boys that they are part of something greater, both within the school and the wider Bedford community.
This incredible transformation would not have been possible without the generous funding and support of our Prep Guild. In his welcome speech, Mr Silk gave heartfelt thanks to them, particularly Melissa Morgan (Chair of the Prep Guild) and Debbie Macey-White, whose vision and dedication brought the Atrium to life. Their hands-on involvement in designing the space and its stunning murals has left a lasting legacy for generations of boys to come.
“It’s an exciting, colourful and wonderful space to use, and the boys love it!”
