Our Sixth form artists were delighted to welcome the
internationally recognised, innovative artist Michael Brennand-Wood for a
masterclass on Sunday 17 January 2016.

Following an introduction, where Michael showed the fourteen
boys numerous samples of his textile sculptural work, they each went on
to make exciting three-dimensional inventive pieces using a wide range of
materials.

The boys were challenged to work without pre-set ideas of
their outcomes but instead to respond to the materials, using their own
ideas as a starting point. The resulting works were diverse, imaginative and
showed that the boys had been stretched creatively.
