Over the last few days Old Bedfordians have been involved in Acts of Remembrance up and down the country and further afield too. Thank you to those that supported the School at our events.

On Friday 11th November, the former Bursar, Colonel Jack Stenhouse OBE MVO (57-67, Staff 03-11) took part in the whole School Assembly in the Great Hall, and on Sunday 13th November the Reverend Andrew Clitheroe (Staff 79-83) returned as our visiting preacher. Andrew kindly travelled all the way from Lancashire, where he is the Chaplain of the University of Central Lancaster. At the Chapel Service the Chairman of the Old Bedfordians Club, Chris Williams (68-79) gave a reading and Flight Lieutenant Tom Abrahams (92-03) laid a wreath in memory of all Old Bedfordians who have lost their lives in conflict. The Choir sang particularly well on both occasions making the services all the more poignant. Henry Poppleton (Remove Form) and George Christian (Upper Sixth) should also be congratulated on their fine trumpet playing at the services.

Earlier in the year both the OB Club and School had organised trips to Ypres and the Somme, where they had visited the graves of a number of OBs and learnt more about these campaigns in detail. Both parties came together for a shared Act of Remembrance at the Thiepval Memorial, which was incredibly moving for both young and old alike.

Old Bedfordians, parents and friends of the School are most welcome to join us at all Chapel Services. Details can be found here.
