Last Friday, our Y4 boys were incredibly excited about their latest science trip – a visit to Whipsnade Zoo.

Seeing the zoo’s many animals up close is always special, and during their exciting day of learning the boys gained first-hand an insight into how animals are ideally suited to living in their environments. Through lots of fun activities, the boys enjoyed finding out about the adaptations of different species, such as rhinos, and discovered how closely-related species differ due to how they’ve evolved to live in their habitats.

The day gave the boys plenty to think about, including how they as humans affect animals and their environments, and what they can do to make a difference.

The boys will be expanding on all they learned on this fun day out in the classroom throughout the remainder of the term.
