Ditto Theatre Company ran an ‘Introduction to Puppetry’ workshop for 40 Y8 pupils before performing their new play, Rocket Girl, to all Y7 and Y8 pupils in The Quarry Theatre on Monday 24 June.
Ditto use puppetry, lighting and physical theatre techniques to tell highly imaginative stories on stage, enthralling audiences by bringing to life everyday objects in exciting, unexpected ways. Our Y8 boys learnt how to breathe life into everyday objects such as plastic bags and dusters, further developing their appreciation for theatre and performance.
Hugh WIlliams (Y8), who took part in the workshop, said: “It was incredible to find out how realistic and life-like something ordinary like a plastic bag can be! I really enjoyed the session; it was a lot of fun.”
