A group of Fourth Form boys explored a different side to their creative talents when they attended a specialist sculpture workshop run by local artist, Anne-Marie Stijelja. The boys learnt how to sculpt using the dry needle felting method to create realistic 3D sculptures. They also studied the patterns and colours from the inside and outside of various fruit to recreate them using only two materials; polystyrene and wool.

The workshop was also an opportunity for the boys to consider just how varied a subject art is and what possible career paths art can lead to. Art is an exciting and diverse subject which allows boys to explore and extend their creativity. Boys at Bedford School studying art in recent years have subsequently gone on to study architecture, film making, computer game design, Art History (leading to work in museums), fashion, illustration and graphics.
