In an action-packed week, boys from across the Prep School engaged wholeheartedly in a wide range of drama experiences.

On Tuesday, our Y6 boys were privileged to be a part of an interactive staging of Shakespeare’s classic tale of A Midsummer Night’s Dream by the Young Shakespeare Company. A firm favourite each year, the company brought Shakespeare to life for the boys, some for the very first time, in an active retelling of the magical play where the boys help the professional actors perform the story and have it explained to them. All of the boys created the sound effects and were involved in the crowd scenes, and a few took on some main parts, which they did brilliantly. Hopefully, the boys will ask to see many more Shakespeare plays in the future.

On Wednesday, it was the turn of our Y3 and Y4 boys to present their highly-entertaining mini-musical on the Romans. The performance was short and sweet, and immensely fun! Well done to everyone involved.

Elsewhere, preparations continue apace for this term’s performances of The Wind in the Willows. The set is taking shape – we are sure that you will be impressed with our very own Toad Hall in the Quarry Theatre – and final dress rehearsals continue in earnest as the boys prepare to tread the boards.
