Our Y3 boys have been busy learning about the Ancient Egyptians this term.
This week, the boys headed to London and the British Museum to explore the wonders of Ancient Egypt!
From mummies to hieroglyphs, they discovered a treasure trove of fascinating artefacts, bringing their topic to life. Instead of clipboards, boys used their devices to create virtual journals, capturing notes, sketches and reflections in real-time!
Ahead of the trip, the boys enjoyed a fun Egyptian day complete with pharaohs and ancient gods. Decked out in fantastic costumes, the boys enjoyed a morning filled with fact hunting, fascinating artefacts and games before immersing themselves in the fantastical world of the ancient Egyptians in truly dramatic style after the death of a mighty pharaoh.
The boys have also been working hard preparing for their big Egyptian Showcase! In a clay masterclass led by Mr Studd in the Art studios, they created impressive artefacts – from Rosetta Stones to detailed scarab beetles and sarcophagi.
We can’t wait to visit the showcase on Friday 6 December.
