Independent Boys’ School of the Year 2025
Bedford School is proud to be a finalist in the 2025 Independent School of the Year Awards, for Independent Boys’ School of the Year. The school was a previous winner of this award in 2021 and was a finalist in 2023. The 2025 winner will be announced in October.
Fortune World Leading Boarding School
Bedford School is proud to have recently been named among Fortune’s ‘World’s Leading Boarding Schools’. We were awarded five stars, placing us not just in the top 250 schools covered by the report, but in the global top 100, making us one of just six boys’ boarding schools in the world to have achieved such a rating.
Top School for Sport 2024
Bedford School is proudly ranked 18th in the 2024 School Sport Magazine’s Top 200 Sports Schools list, placing us in the top 0.5% of schools for sport nationwide and as the third-best independent boys’ school – a strong reflection of our ongoing commitment to sporting excellence across a wide range of sporting disciplines.
ISI Inspection
We were delighted to receive a hugely positive report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), the body responsible for the inspection of independent schools, when they inspected us in October 2023 to confirm all standards were met.
The framework, which has been in place since September 2023, focuses on how schools promote the wellbeing of their pupils. ISI determine this through close scrutiny of schools’ leadership, education, recreation and safeguarding arrangements, as well as pupil mental and physical health, and social, emotional and economic wellbeing.
