We are hugely fortunate and grateful to have a wonderfully supportive community at Bedford Prep School!
Over the past few weeks, our amazing parents have become busy elves, wrapping and selling presents for the boys’ gift sales, sparking curiosity with an explosive geography talk, joining hockey sessions, and blending wine, cheese and great company to raise funds for the Prep School.
Gift Sales
If you find an unexpected gift from your son under the tree this Christmas, then our wonderful Prep Guild may have helped.
This week saw the first of their Christmas Gift Sales, and boys were busy buying gifts for their parents, siblings, relations and pets! May we say a huge thank-you on behalf of the boys to the Prep Guild, who gave up their time to choose, wrap and sell the gifts. A tremendous effort!
Geography Talk
A brilliant talk on volcanoes and earthquakes from Dr Jenny Robertson enthralled our Y7 boys on Monday. Earthquake Geologist and Mum to Harris, Dr Robertson, brought the boys’ Geography studies to life. The boys especially loved her fantastic facts. Did you know P-Waves, the fastest of the seismic waves at 18,000 mph, travel faster than an F35 fighter jet (1,200 mph) and even the speed at which the International Space Station orbits the Earth (17,900 mph). They also asked lots of brilliant questions, even asking about volcanoes and earthquakes on other planets.
Game for Hockey
Seeing so many parents for our ‘Back to Hockey’ sessions was wonderful this term. The fun sessions with Mr Mason provided an opportunity to be active, meet other parents and, for some, the chance to try something new.
Wine and Cheese Tasting Evening
Parents of Prep School boys recently enjoyed a delightful evening of wine, cheese and good company. The evening, organised by the Prep Guild and hosted by local wine experts, Wisson Hill, provided a perfect blend of fun, knowledge and fundraising. Read more.
A huge thank-you to the Prep Guild and all our fantastic parents for their superb support!
