We were delighted to see that Old Bedfordian, Professor Tim Briggs (67-76), was awarded a CBE in the New Year’s Honours list for services to the Surgical Profession. Tim is Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and was appointed as National Director for Clinical Quality and Efficiency for the NHS in September 2015. He was Medical Director at the RNOH for 15 years and was President of the British Orthopaedic Association in 2014.

Tim has maintained strong links with the School and we were fortunate to have him return last March to give a very informative and well-received talk on the future of the NHS entitled ‘Can the NHS be Saved?’.

If you know of other OBs who have been recognised in the New Year Honours, do please let us know.
