14-Year-old Aryan Secures Place in NYT

Congratulations to Remove Former Aryan Sohanpal who has secured a place at the prestigious National Youth Theatre (NYT) this summer at just 14 years old.

Aryan is in esteemed company as he follows in the footsteps of many Bedford School boys before him, including OB Jonny Hosking (12-19), who has recently been returned to school to take up the temporary post of ‘Actor in Residence’. Aryan joins a long list of Bedford School drama students who have also trodden the boards at the NYT – in the last eight years, at least one boy every year has joined the company.

Aryan was one of the youngest auditionees, up against 14,000 talented young actors, before finally being chosen to be one of just 800 to join the company. The audition process was no easy task; firstly, he was required to demonstrate movement, improvisation and show his devising skills. This was then followed with a monologue performance and finally an interview!

Aryan has already had his first session, and we look forward to following his journey with the esteemed theatre group over the summer.
