BSSC - Living at BSSC

bsscBSSC is one large building with teaching rooms, student bedrooms, Houseparents' accommodation and administration offices. The Study Centre is situated on the Bedford School Estate and is very much a part of Bedford School life.

All BSSC courses are fully residential. Students live here. The oldest students may have a single room. Most students share a bedroom with one other student of the same gender and of a similar age. Students almost always share a room with a student who does not speak the same language.  Two boys' rooms have bunk beds.  There is wi-fi in the bedrooms until lights-out time at night.  Accommodation areas for girls and boys are strictly segregated.

Each student has a bed, wardrobe and drawer space and a desk at which to study. There are shower rooms on each floor; two for boys and one for girls. We have our own laundry room, and our domestic staff wash, dry and iron the students’ clothes six days a week. The Houseparents, the Assistant House Parents and the Matrons look after all the students' pastoral needs.
