Sixth Form Opportunities
Moving into the Sixth Form is challenging. It is a time of transition when students are encouraged to take increased personal responsibility, both in their working environment and in their personal lives, and to develop an appetite for self-motivated study. To provide Bedford students with the best possible choices, the Sixth Form curriculum offers an extensive range of subjects at AS/A2 Level and the option of studying for the International Baccalaureate.
At Advanced level we offer a generous options scheme providing tremendous scope and flexibility to ensure the broadest choice of potential degree courses. The IB Diploma emphasises in-depth study across a breadth of disciplines. As well as possessing all the strengths of a traditional education, learning how to learn and how to evaluate information critically are central to its philosophy.
The boys will be in a position to make an informed choice about which courses to follow and they will be encouraged to take into account their abilities and preferences together with higher education and career plans. The School’s guiding hand also ensures that each boy’s choice will enhance rather than restrict his future possibilities.
