We like to keep in touch with you! We prefer using email to speed up communications, and to help save paper and reduce postage costs, but we do also post annual publications. You can also find us on social media, sharing news, events and all things ‘OB Club’.

We post photos from our events, news of OBs, links to upcoming events, old photographs and much more on Facebook and Twitter. Feel free to post your own school photos, tag yourself in event photos or ask us questions! On Facebook, we have a weekly ‘OB Throwback Thursday’ where we ask for help to name all the OBs in an old photograph – why not see if you can put names to faces!

Our LinkedIn group is a private group, which means you have to request to join and be confirmed as an OB by us. This is so that the group is a place where OBs can ask for and offer career advice and experience, promote their business, and hear about OB-only business events without being inundated by non-OB requests.

Emails

We send out a monthly News email, with updates about OBs, photos from our events and School snippets, and also a monthly Events email which lists our upcoming events over the next three months.

If you are an Old Bedfordian who hasn’t been receiving these and you would like to, then we probably don’t have your email address! Let us know what it is on obclub@bedfordschool.org.uk (you can unsubscribe from one or both emails at any time).

Publications

Our primary annual publication is the Ousel, published in winter, which comprises a School section and an Old Bedfordian part. The Ousel has been running since 1876. Old Bedfordians can get this publication through the post each year by becoming a Subscribing Member (at £25 per annum), and you will also get unlimited access to the full archive of Ousels online via the Bedford School Heritage website.

Our secondary publication is the OB Review, published in the summer, which goes out free to all Old Bedfordians for whom we have a postal address (if you are an OB and haven’t received this, then please let us know your postal address!). Subscribing Members can also access past copies of the OB Review on the Bedford School Heritage website too.
